As much as we adore vintage cars and trucks, they were not very suitable for off-road trekking. Once the Allies entered WWII, they knew that a special kind of vehicle was going to be needed to win. Enter the Jeep, which was originally called the Willys MB. Equipped with a powerful engine—aptly named the “Go Devil”—and a 4 x 4 drivetrain, this model would help keep the Axis powers at bay in the European theatre, serve as a mode of transportation for military personnel around bases and camps, and perform as an ambulance vehicle on the blood-soaked island of Iwo Jima.
